The Agilent InfinityLab HPLC Advisor application provides a comprehensive set of tools designed to streamline various aspects of high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), including troubleshooting and method development. Upon installation, the application offers offline functionality, allowing users to access its features whether they are in close proximity to or away from their HPLC instruments. Importantly, these tools are compatible across a broad range of HPLC systems, irrespective of brand or model.

In the troubleshooting module, common HPLC issues are systematically categorized, enabling users to identify problems efficiently with just a few clicks. For each issue, the app offers two options: a detailed view of potential causes accompanied by tips or a step-by-step guided process for resolution. This dual approach enhances user flexibility and problem-solving effectiveness.

The calculator section includes tools such as:

• Method translation: Facilitates the transition of legacy methods to new columns and systems by inputting existing parameters alongside new system details. The calculator then determines appropriate experimental conditions and gradients for the updated method. Users can customize input fields using default or specific values and save results in PDF format.
• Chromatographic performance prediction: Assists in estimating how a chromatographic method will perform based on parameters such as column specifications, system dwell volume, mobile phase composition, and experimental conditions. The tool outputs predicted performance metrics like gradient slope, theoretical plates, peak capacity, backpressure, and optimal flow rate, with options to save results as PDFs.

The data library provides useful resources, including:

• Conversions: Offers LC-related information such as unit conversion factors, physical constants, powers of ten, and concentration values.
• Formulas: Lists calibration and analysis formulas pertinent to LC, with a search function for quick retrieval. All formulas are interconnected with related parameters for comprehensive understanding.
